Snow!

Yesterday and last night we received the first major snow of the season, Finally! And I got to go out and help my Dad do chores, which was fine there not hard and I got to go out and "play" in the snow! except that at the end of chores the tractors were losing traction... NOT GOOD, especially when all we had to get home was a little Honda car! And my cousin Ryan drove his car too, you would think from being born and raised here, we would have been smart enough to drive a pickup during times of heavy snow fall...nope. So my reward, I got to push my cousins car up the hill to get out of the yard, we figured that once we got on the road we would be okay. Boy, were we wrong! [smile] I ended up pushing the car up almost every hill we came to, ya know I never realized how many hills there are in a mile and a half! we did make it home and i was exhausted, and really thirsty. and then last night me and my sister got to hang out, just the two of us, she killed me 5 to 1 at Uno, then we quite and watched a movie I liked that better!

A nice view from my window this morning.

"And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us:

and establish thou the work of our hand upon us;

yea, the work of our hand establish upon it"

Seeing Spots

Today I had the privilege to spend most of the day in a local dairy, examining cows with the vet. As you may know I am looking into being a Vet Tech, so I talked to the local vet clinic and got the okay to come and, hang out with them more or less, to get the feel of what it would be like and what the job would entail.
My adventures so far entail, watching a cat get a fish hook cut out of its lip, checking up on some lame horses and sadly we had to put a mini down, then we got to pump a dogs stomach because it ate a lot of chocolate, and today I was spit up on by a calf while pumping fluid into its stomach, checking out a whole bunch of sick dairy cows, here I was lucky enough to get to listen to heart beats and breathing, then after that we did ultra sounds on 10 ewes to check it they were pregnant or not. It was over all a great experience and I can't wait to go back!

A Christmas Surprise

What a Christmas this was! We were just about done opening presents, and to tell you the truth I was a little worried, when I got an empty guitar case... For the past three months I have been borrowing my Grandpa's guitar, and as a joke my parents teased me that I could take that to college with me. So Christmas morning they took the new guitar out of the case and gave me an empty case "to protect my grandpa's when I took it to college". Now, don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with my grandpa's guitar, but there is something special about having one that you can call your own!

I didn't believe them right away, but after almost an hour, I was getting a little scared! Low and behold I was right all along and they finally brought out the new one!

I hope every one had a very Merry Christmas, and I hope no one forgot the real meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ! Best Wishes to all in the New Year!

"The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty, he will save,
he will rejoice over thee with joy, he will rest in his love,
he will joy over thee with singing"
